E' il granito serizzo il materiale utilizzato per l'artefatto da tavola Rompinoci. Un oggetto scabro ed elegante che allude alla forma ovale del circo romano per ospitare il rito della rottura dei gusci duri della frutta secca. La tradizione propiziatoria di rompere la frutta secca al tavolo per mangiarne il contenuto non è solo un rito delle feste comandate, ma è una consuetudine conviviale per molte regioni del sud Italia e nello specifico della Sicilia, regione d'origine del progettista. L'utilizzo monomaterico del granito, con la forza espressiva della sua piccola texture, riconduce a una ritualità eterna e quasi primitiva che narra di un gesto antico, quello del "rompere con una pietra" per ottenere cibo.
Serizzo granite is the material used for Rompinoci table artifact. A rough and elegant object that alludes to the oval shape of the Roman circus to host the rite of breaking the hard shells of dried fruit. The propitiatory tradition of breaking the dried fruit at the table to eat its contents is not only a ritual of the feasts, but it is a convivial custom for many regions of southern Italy and specifically of Sicily, the designer's region of origin. The single-material use of granite, with the expressive power of its small texture, leads back to an eternal and almost primitive ritual that tells of an ancient gesture, the one of "breaking with a stone" to obtain food.
